Great Pyramids of Giza - An Ancient Wonder of the World

PUMPS & PASSPORTS™ is headed to one of the most impressive, iconic and mysterious sights in the entire world - the Great Pyramids of Giza Complex - one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World in Egypt for a 10 day / 9 night Egyptian vacation. Join us on this escorted, small group, women-only luxury vacation, as we walk in the footsteps of the ancient Kings and Queens of Egypt, explore the 5,000 year legacy of the pharaohs and discover the unique treasures of Egypt. We'll visit sacred sites and cruise the River Nile, like Cleopatra sailed.

Our journey begins in Giza and continues as we sail the longest river in the world - the majestic River Nile, where we will view outstanding ancient temples of Egypt. From our 5⭐ luxury cruiseship, we'll admire the antiquities and beauty of the country from Aswan to Luxor. Enjoy three (3) nights' accommodations, three (3) daily meals, private guided tours and evening entertainment while on board. And if personalized attention is what you desire, our expert Egyptologist guide will be there to assist.

After we experience the wonderful highlights of ancient Egypt, we'll escape the desert and head to the beautiful sand beaches by the Red Sea in Hurghada. Relax in your personal time as you sit in the sand, swim, snorkel, or simply enjoy a mental break reclined in a beach chair under the shade of an umbrella with a cool beverage in your hand. Lots of opportunities for water activities. Perfect for non-swimmers, we'll explore the underwater world of the Red Sea without getting wet as we view corals, exotic fish, rays, turtles and other water creatures from a panoramic glass-bottom boat. After days of personal time, return home rejuvenated, energized and refreshed.

ABOUT EGYPT - Officially the Arab Republic of Egypt, Egypt is one of the world's first nation states and is considered the cradle of civilization. Located in Northern Africa, Egypt borders the Mediterranean Sea, between Libya and the Gaza Strip and the Red Sea north of Sudan and includes the Asian Sinai Peninsula. Egypt is a vast desert plateau interrupted by the Nile valley with hot, dry temperatures. With over 97 million inhabitants, Egypt is the third most populous country in Africa. Islam is the official religion of Egypt and Arabic is its official language. In 2016, Egypt overtook South Africa to became Africa's second largest economy (after Nigeria).

ABOUT THE RIVER NILE - The world's longest north-flowing river of 4,132 miles in northeastern Africa, the Nile flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Egypt has relied on the Nile since ancient times, with most of the population living along the riverbanks or nearby. The River Nile is formed from two major tributaries, the White Nile and the Blue Nile. The river played had a vital role in the building of the Ancient Egyptian Pyramids, as the blocks of stone used for construction had to be transported by boat. In 1970, the Aswan High Dam was built, helping to control the yearly flooding of the River. Around half of Egypt’s population of 97 million people reside in the Nile Delta region. The largest city in this area is Alexandria, which has a population of over 6 million.

ABOUT HURGHADA BEACH - Hurghada is one of the best seaside beach destinations in Egypt. You can enjoy an abundance of restaurants and nightlife for fun in the sun on long stretches of more than 25 miles of beach with accommodations to match in the finest 5⭐resorts. It's the kind of place you can be as chilled or as active as you want and makes for a stunning location for a beach vacation in Egypt. Hurghada is the gateway to Egypt's southern dive sites. Wake up to the sight of crystal clear waters, dive among remarkable reefs and check out ship wrecks off the coast. The long stretches of natural sand beaches and a year-round temperate climate makes this the ideal destination for sun enthusiasts. The waters are clear, calm and great for swimming, sailing and snorkeling. You can enjoy the underwater flora and fauna sights that are close to the beach. If you are not into swimming, you can always go on a glass bottom boat or semi submarine boat trip.

Is this an escorted tour? Yes. We will travel with a tour director, who will take care of us throughout our vacation. We will travel by plane, motor coach and ship to pre-selected sites, landmarks and destinations during our trip. That also means that morning departures will normally be at 9:00AM each day, but occasionally there could be an early morning departure

I want to relax on vacation. Can I do that on this tour? This group tour is a mix between sightseeing, cruising and being outdoors. So, if you love being active, meeting new people and seeing new things, then this will be a great trip for you. You will be able to enjoy relaxing "ME" time in the evenings when you return to the hotel, if you skip evening socializing activities with the group. If you want to relax on the beach in a resort-style vacation, there is definitely "down time" to relax on the beach for a few days at the end of our trip so you return home rejuvenated and refreshed, instead of being exhausted.

Can I do my own thing before and after the tour? Absolutely, you can! Our Social Group organizes travel for the group of women but it is by no means a 'must' to be with the group the entire trip. It is your vacation and you can choose to spend it as you like, as long as it does not inconvenience any of the other travel members. Our sisterhood of members travel together as friends, and we encourage you to be as free and independent as possible on your vacation. In the evenings, some of us may go out as a group for dinner, but if you have had enough 'group time' for the day, you can enjoy personal "Me" time to yourself. This is especially needed for people who are introverts and it completely understood. You may even choose to sit out on parts of the group tour and link up again later if you like. Please note that you are liable for the cost of any alternative activities you choose to undertake during your leave and you will not receive a refund for any unused services or food.

How do I make a reservation? You may lock your spot by clicking the link below to complete your reservation form online, on the phone, or in person at one of our Meetup.com Socials.

Are prices based on double occupancy? Yes, PUMPS & PASSPORTS™ vacation packages and retreats are always based on double occupancy; however, we do offer a Single Supplement if you prefer a room to yourself. We do not offer triple or quad room accommodations.

Can you help me secure a roommate if I cannot find one? Yes, many women who sign up for our vacation packages and retreats come alone. PUMPS & PASSPORTS™ is happy to arrange a RoomShare Match upon request, but cannot guarantee one will always be available; neither does PUMPS & PASSPORTS™ guarantee compatibility.

I enjoy my personal space. Can I have a room to myself? Yes, the price is higher for a single room and it can be organized. Please look for the additional single supplement rate at the pricing area.

How do I pay for the trip and what form of payment do you accept? We have various payment options available including credit card, debit card, e-check, bank-to-bank money transfer and ACH; however, no cash, check or money order is ever accepted. An invoice will be emailed to you to pay your initial deposit and subsequent monthly payments. You will receive an updated Account Statement after each payment.

Should I insure my trip and how much does it cost? Proof of out-of-country medical insurance is required to travel with Pumps & Passport. Travel protection coverage is short term insurance intended to protect against “unexpected” travel-related expenses and emergencies, such as cancellation, interruption, medical expenses, evacuation, loss or delay. Travel insurance is highly recommended. You may receive a travel protection quote for your trip here: Travel Protection Quote
