PianoArts presents a Gala in support of the 2018 North American Competition.

The evening showcases an extravaganza of talent.

Gala Concert

Sahun "Sam" Hong

Sam Hong, the 2012 PianoArts North American First Place Competition Winner will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3, his winning competition concerto when he played with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.

At the Gala, Mr. Hong will perform this concerto with a string quartet from the MSO, who will play Sam's arrangement for a chamber music setting.

The Gala will also showcase four more pianists, a singer, and a zither player in the Prelude Concert.

Prelude Concert

The Prelude Concert, a musical salute to Vienna's dazzling artistic life, will open the Gala. Performing will be concert pianists Stefanie Jacob and Jeffry Peterson; Wisconsin Youth Piano Competition first place winner, Michael Wu; Tanya Kruse Ruck, soprano; and 2017 PianoArts fellow, John Schindler.

Time of Events

  • 6:00 p.m.

The event begins with cocktails (cash bar) and silent auction.

  • 6:30 p.m.

Gala Prelude Concert

  • 7:30 p.m.


Entrees include:

Orange-Cranberry Chicken Breast

Parmesan Crusted Whitefish

Roasted Vegetable Risotto

  • 8:30 p.m.
