hello everyone that will reading/listening this my name is Jonas and am 11 years. i am making this book to tell you what i do well this stuff out side my house. i have been stock in this world for a long time now i think. i am so scared because i don't know whats going to happen next. i don't know whats really going on but i do know that there is no way out. whatever going on i hope it ends soon

what do the numbers assigned to each child signify: the order of their birth

why does the chief elder apologize to the audience at the ceremony of twelve: she has caused them anxiety about jonas's assignment

how does the community react ton the death of a child in the river: they chant the child's name over and over, each time more and more softly
