Vionise Pierre-Louis set a career high with 33 points, added a team-high 13 rebounds and chipped in three assists and one block vs. West Virginia.

She became the first OU player to score 30-plus points in a single game this season. Her 33 points are tied for the 16th-most ever by a Sooner.

Pierre-Louis scored 31 of her 33 points after halftime. She finished 11-of 13 from the field in the second half and in overtime. She scored 12 of OU's 23 points during the two overtime periods.

Pierre-Louis also had a career night at the free throw, finishing 9-of 12 (.750) from the free throw line.

In need of an offensive spark, the Sooners turned to Pierre-Louis in the second half. During the fourth quarter, she scored 12 straight points and 15 in the frame to push the contest into overtime.

In the extra frames, Pierre-Louis was 3-of-5 from the floor and 6-of-6 at the line to pace OU's attack.

Pierre-Louis' 33 points are the most by a Sooner in a Big 12 game since Aaryn Ellenberg scored 37 at Texas in 2014.

OU is 3-0 all-time when Pierre-Louis scores 20-plus points. The junior leads the Sooners with seven double-doubles this season.

Senior guard Gioya Carter turned in a gutsy performance, scoring 14 points on 4-of-10 shooting.

As the Sooners trailed by 12, the Midwest City, Okla., native sparked OU's comeback effort by sinking her second 3-pointer of the night early in the fourth quarter.

OU is 6-1 this season when Carter scores in double figures. The senior played 33 minutes and added in two assists and two rebounds against the Mountaineers.

Peyton Little kept the Sooners within striking distance by scoring 11 of her 13 points in the first half. The redshirt senior did not leave court Tuesday night, setting a school record by playing all 50 minutes. She added in five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Junior guard Gabbi Ortiz scored nine points, pulled down seven rebounds and picked up four assists against WVU. Ortiz played 48 of 50 minutes Tuesday, setting a career high. Her 48 minutes of action are the second-most ever played by a Sooner in one game.


  • The Sooners earned their ninth consecutive home victory are now 13-1 at Lloyd Noble Center this year. During its nine-game home winning streak, OU has averaged 82.2 points per game and outscored its opponents by an average margin of 16.9.
  • OU trailed by 15 points with 5:08 left in the third quarter. Its the second straight time at home that OU has rallied from at least 14 points down to defeat West Virginia. Last season, the Sooners trailed by 16 points in the third quarter, but knocked off the Mountaineers, 57-54, on Jan. 27, 2016.
  • OU’s 90 points against West Virginia are most the Sooners have scored versus the Mountaineers in a single game in series history. It is also the most points scored by the Sooners in a Big 12 game this year. OU also finished with 23 combined points during the two overtime periods, their most ever. The Sooners were 12-of-14 (.857) from the free throw line and 6-of-10 from the field during the two extra frames.
  • The 25 made free throws and the 34 free throw attempts are the most by the Sooners against a Big 12 opponent this season.
  • The Sooners won their 34th consecutive game (13-0 this season) when finishing with a higher field goal percentage than their opponent. OU also won its 29th straight games when combining to win/tie the rebounding and turnover margin. OU recorded 21 WVU turnovers and tied the rebounding margin, 44-44.
  • The Sooners improved to 20-20 all-time in overtime games and 3-1 in double overtime under Sherri Coale. Under Coale, the Sooners are 15-11 overall and 9-7 against Big 12 teams in overtime. OU has won back-to-back overtime games in the same year for the first time since the 2009-10 season.

The Sooners head to Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday to wrap up the season series with Texas Tech. Tip is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Southwest + and Fox Sports Oklahoma.
