Pattern and Texture BEST PRACTICES FOR ADOBE STOCK

Patterns and textures in the Adobe Stock Vectors Collection provide editable, scalable, seamless creative elements for all kinds of design projects. Vector patterns and textures should be able to be tiled seamlessly, use an optimal number of paths to retain the integrity of the design while operating smoothly, and should be organized so individual elements and colors can be updated by the user.

Usability

Patterns and textures can be uploaded as individual files or as sets. Sets should include no more than 25 assets and should present no marketing text in the file for presentation and usability purposes. Vector files should only include vector graphics and any rasterized imagery should be converted to a vector file to be included as an editable element in each asset.

Additionally, strokes on vector graphics strokes should be outlined as paths to scale and tile seamlessly. Adobe Stock customers should be able to navigate individual assets or sets through organized layers and groups in order to edit elements or colors. Add patterns as swatches for .ai uploads to make your files even easier to use.

Seamless tiling

Patterns and textures can include a large amount of detail and still retain their functionality so long as the edges of each design are able to tile seamlessly. Seamless patterns are able to be applied infinitely in any direction and easily repeat elements without changing the design.

Use cases

Consider the buyer's use cases when you construct and present your vector pattern and texture submissions. Adobe Stock buyers may use pattern and texture assets or sets for a number of different creative projects, such as:

  • Stationary design
  • Brand identity
  • Cartoon and animation design
  • Repeating background graphics
  • Presentation graphics
