Why do some Spruce trees have branches more pointed up than other Spruce tree branches? By Collin Cobabe/Period 5

This Spruce tree has branches that point up towards the sun.

This Spruce tree's branches are less pointed up to the sun. This may be because this tree is dying.

The reason trees have branches pointed up is because the trees are trying to develop a "web" that helps it capture sunlight. So this may be why some Spruce trees have more pointed branches than others. The tree with the more pointed branches may require more sunlight than the other trees and so this "web" can help benefit the tree.
