The Penderwicks By: Jeanne Birdsall

Realistic Fiction

A summer tale off four sisters, two rabbits, and a very interesting boy.

"Suffused with affectionate humor, the charming, old-fashioned story feels familiar in the way best books seem like old friends. Nostalgic but never stale, this fresh, satisfying novel I'd like a cool breeze on a summer's day." -The Horn Book Magazine

4 Penderwick sisters are off to vacation at an estate named Arundel. Wonderful adventures start with a boy named Jeffery. Batty is almost killed by a bull, Rosalind falls in love, Jane writes a book, Skye breaks the rules, Hound, the dog, escapes, and the bunnies are lost. Many more adventures to come if you read this book.

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a book full of adventures and mischief. The book is full of adventures like the trip to the bull pen and the adventures through the forbidden gardens. There is a lot of mischief like sneaking up the tree to see Jeffery after he was locked in his room and seeing the rabbits after not begin told.
