Term 1 Exams Coming Up

It's hard to believe, but Term 1 exams are approaching quickly! Exams will be given the week of December 17th. Now is a great time to check in with all your teachers and finish any work that needs to be done or turn-in any missing assignments. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your Focus Group teachers for assistance. Finish strong, Falcons!

Parents Night Out Event

On Friday, Dec. 14th from 5-9 p.m., JPEC students will host a Parents Night Out event. Kids ages 5-13 are welcome to attend and the cost is $15.00 per child, or $30.00 for three children. Kids will need to sign-in at the main office and will be supervised for the evening by Early College students and parent chaperones. Morning Expectations

Just a reminder that for safety and accountability, CP students who are dropped off early must be in Rm. 158 for morning program until 8:40 a.m. when they are released to go to their first class.

Red Cross Fundraiser for California Wildfires

Hi, my name is Gloria Monroy and I am a CP1 student. I’m in the Falcon Press and I am setting up a fundraiser for the Red Cross with the help of Ms. Holton. The fundraiser will go toward helping with the devastation caused by the California wildfires. It will start December 12, 2018 and end February 6, 2019. Teachers will have a Red Cross collection tin to keep in their classrooms. This is a contest, so whoever raises the most money will get a prize of a pizza party! There will be two winners, 1 for College Prep and 1 For Early College. Please consider sending in your loose change to help those who have lost so much. Thank you!

Khan Academy Permission Slips - All Students Must Turn In

Every student needs to turn-in a signed permission slip in order for the school to create their account, which is used for additional practice and instruction as well as SAT Prep during Focus Groups. They are also available in the front office or from Ms. Lloyd. Please get them signed and turned-in ASAP.

Cell Phones In Class

Just a reminder to all CP students and families: the use of cell phones is not permitted in class. You may check your phones in between classes or at lunch, but they must remain off or on silent and out of sight while in the classroom unless specifically stated otherwise by your teachers.

Lunch Reminder & Pizza Wednesdays

Please be sure to bring a healthy lunch each day! It's so important in helping our students to be able to focus and learn in the afternoon. Microwaves are available for use if needed. Students, remember that we eat outside unless it is announced that we are staying inside due to weather. Please make sure you are cleaning up all trash before heading back inside for class. Thank you for helping keep our campus clean.

Pizza will be available for purchase on Wednesdays! Cost is $2.00 for one slice, or $3.00 for two slices. Healthy snacks and drinks are also available for purchase from Ms. Shaw.

Student Absences

Parents: Please be sure to call the front office as soon as possible in the morning if your child is ill and is going to be absent. It is important for us to be able to keep accurate attendance records, and this will help! The office phone # is 768-7093. If your student is absent due to a medical or dental appointment, please bring a doctor's note so we can excuse the absence. Thank you!

JPEC Wellness Website

Our amazing P.E./Health teacher, Ms. Shaw, has created a website that focuses on health, wellness, fitness and nutrition for our Falcon families. It also has snack lists and pricing for items available for purchase during lunch breaks. Click on the link below to check it out!

Finn the Falcon

Our Emotional Support Animal (ESA) in-training, Finn, is in his second week of official training with Tammy Waynick at the K9 Academy and is learning quickly! Tammy has over 30 years experience as a dog trainer for companion, police, sport, handicap, therapy, service and rescue dogs. With a background in Psychology and Sociology, Tammy merged her love of behavioral science and animals as a way to help people. We are excited to have her support and expertise for Finn.

Proudly celebrating our 5th Anniversary! Go Falcons!
