Freshman FUNdamentals August 15, 2017

Members of the Radnor High School Class of 2021 attended a comprehensive orientation, Freshman FUNdamentals, on August 15. The program provided incoming 9th-graders with advice and know-how from RHS staff members and older schoolmates.

Following a welcome from Principal Dan Bechtold, Assistant Principal David Stango and Superintendent Ken Batchelor, the students were divided into groups and rotated through four 40-minute sessions.

RHS Student Ambassadors led tours of the building and conducted a Q&A session.

The 9th-graders did a Scavenger Hunt, where they found different locations in the building such as the Guidance Office, International Cafe, Back Gym & Library/Writing Center.

Mubarak Lawrence (RHS '06) and a group of current RHS students led a Diversity and Inclusion Workshop.

RTSD's Social and Emotional Coach, Dr. Dan Cane, led a group activity illustrating the value of trying new things and trusting your peers.

The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 is Tues., Sept. 5. Freshmen will attend the RHS morning session beginning at 7:30 a.m. AM bus pick-up times will be published by the Transportation Department. Students will depart the high school on buses home at 11:20 a.m.
