Q 1 why is the mechanical advantage of a lever of the third order always less than 1 ?

Ans.In the third order levers, the effort arm is in between the fulcrum F and the Load L.Hence the effort arm is always smaller than the load arm,so the mechanical advantage is always less than 1 as it is the ratio between the effort-arm and the load-arm.Example. Sugar tongs.
