Students with Sigma Tau Delta delivered books and bookshelves to students at the Kingsville Housing Authority to help promote literacy. Watch the video above to learn more about their community events.

Volunteers gathered at the Javelina House to plant the brand new Javelina Monarch Kingdom.
The Office of Campus Sustainability received a certificate of appreciation from Monarch Watch for their efforts in creating a Monarch Waystation, which contributes to Monarch conservation.
The Office of Sustainability recently installed a xeriscape garden right in front of the Javelina House. One of the many perks of a xeriscape garden is that not only do they provide a habitat for butterflies and dragonflies, they are also low-maintenance to care for and require minimal amounts of water; which are perfect traits for our South Texas environment!
The pavilion turned into a party for the 2017 Earth Day Fair! Students enjoyed rock climbing, food, info about green jobs and earning prizes.
This week the NCAA Division II announced that Javelina Nation will be the site of the 2019 and 2020 National Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

"Tejano Talks" is a coordinated effort between the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, the Tejano Civil Rights Museum and Resource Center and Texas A&M University-Kingsville. It is dedicated to telling the story of South Texas and preserving the legacy of the Tejano. This is the second installment in a continuing series.
