It's Open! nmaahc's first weekend open to the public

Sisters, friends, family, loved ones… Gather to experience the national Museum of African-American history and culture… Together.

A nonstop bustle of folks inside and outside the Smithsonian's newest museum Sunday, September 25... One day after the National Museum of African-American History and Culture at 14th and Constitution opened to the public.

People with timed entry tickets queue up outside the museum.

Artist Mark G. Displayed several drawings of figures such as Michelle Obama, President Barack Obama, and Harriet Tubman. Passersby were asked to sign the drawings.

Students from the Morgan State University choir head into the museum for a tour. They just finished performing at freedom sounds which was a weekend-long musical celebration
