UD Men's Lacrosse Season preview

The University of Dallas men's lacrosse team began play in February, as Head Coach Keith Loftis takes over his first season at the helm. The Crusaders hosted MCLA Club opponent, University of Louisiana-Lafayette and picked up a 27-10 victory. In addition to setting the goals record in a match, Joshua McClendon won 18 faceoffs to break the new individual game record.

Dallas enters the new campaign with 16 players. 14 returners anchor this team including: Ben Blessard, Joshua McClendon, and Tyler Smith. Tucker Jameson, Jake Frederick, and Chasen Reynolds are other players back that had a huge piece on the offense. Bogar Trout III returns in his third season as a leader on defense, with Cole Griffin shifting to goalkeeper. Hector Pinell-Sanchez could also see time in the cage, with Griffin's ability to play midfield. The pair of newcomers on the squad are Austin Gibbons and Joe Anderson, who found the scoring column in the ULL win.

  • March 3 vs. Chatham: Kicks the new month off and is part of a five-game home stand. First ever meeting between these teams.
  • March 13 vs. Cornell College: Match is in midst of long home stretch and will be over the school's spring break. The UD women's lacrosse team will also play that day after.
  • April 7 vs. Hardin-Simmons University: Senior Day for the trio of Crusaders. It will also mark the last regular season home match prior to the conference tournament.
  • April 26, 28 - SCAC Tournament: The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) is sponsoring men's lacrosse for the first time since 2012. Irving, Texas, will be the site of the end of year tournament. Four teams will qualify and participate in the two-day event.
