Trip Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Travel Days. Flight Departs U.S. to Arusha, Tanzania
Day 2: Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport in Tanzania. Welcome to Tanzania by Young Life Africa staff & leaders, town tour of Arusha, Check-in to hotel in Arusha for overnight. Dinner together, trip orientation, get settled and rest.
Day 3: Visit local Young Life Clubs and walk with leaders through the community, engaging with kids. Assist various Community Outreach Projects with staff and leaders available. *Depending on dates of trip, participate in work crew at a local Young Life camp.
Day 4: Continue in community outreach with staff and leaders. Visit the Cultural Heritage center and local markets.
Day 5-7: Visit Masai Mara village and serve alongside Young Life leaders and staff in this traditional village. Projects vary based on group interest.
Day 8: Depart for the Tarangire National Park, name derived from the Tarangire River which provides permanent water for wildlife. In addition to a wide variety of animals, over 300 species of birdlife have been observed. Experience an afternoon game drive with picnic lunch, then enjoy the unique Maramboi Tented Camp for the evening.
Day 9: Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for a tour and picnic lunch.
Day 10: Continue your Safari adventure with morning and afternoon game drives in open air vehicles.
Day 11: Return to Arusha for evening flights home or to your next adventure.
*Prices from $3900/person and vary based on level of accommodations. Travelers are responsible for airfares, visas, vaccinations and other passport related fees.
Trip Extensions Available:
Zanzibar Adventure: Take a short flight from Tanzania to the historic island of Zanzibar, the famous "spice island". Take a guided walk or moto-ride through Stone Town where Arabian and Indian influence is woven into Swahili culture. Snorkel the Nyange reef and take a private tour of a spice farm. Prices vary depending on length of stay. *Prices vary depending on length of stay and level of accommodations.
