Culture: Humayun's Tomb

When in India, Humayan's Tomb is a must see. It was built in the 1560s in honor of Humayun. It is rumored that he made plans for the site but it was built later after he died. Surrounding it are beautiful gardens and pools connected by channels. Over 150 Mughal descendants and royalty and are buried there . Humayun's Tomb models Persian architecture and is made with vibrant red sandstone and white marble. If you go to Humayun's Tomb you will not be disappointed!

Religious: Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a temple and a mosque that Emperor Shah Jahan built in memory of his wife. It took 16 years to build along with another 5 years to add things on. Later when the emperor died, he would be buried on the opposite side of the temple across from his wife. Just by looking at the minarets at the sides you can tell the prominence of Islamic architecture. This site is the main attraction of many tourists because of it's intricate craftsmanship and what it represents.

Economy: Hill Forts of Rajasthan

The Hill Forts of Rajasthan are forts that surround palaces and marketplaces in the state of Rajasthan. They were a very important part of the success of the Rajput dynasty. These walls protected citizens from invaders and kept there economy stable. Today you can go there to see what is inside these forts - urban trading centers and things such as temples and palaces. You will not become bored at the Hill Forts of Rajasthan simply because of all of its diverse aspects!

Political: Agra Fort

Built by Akbar, Agra Fort was a military base as well as a royal residence. It is still considered one of the finest Mughal forts in India. It was later used as a prison Shah Jahan's son seized power in 1658. It is a maze of building constructed with white marble and sandstone. Tourists can walk around to see the bazaar, throne room for the emperor, (and many others) that were once used at the base. Agra Fort is a unique attraction that is worth visiting.
