THE Virtual Torah The Beginning

We created the CBIOS Virtual Torah as a collaborative tribute to Judaism in order to help us raise funds to ensure the future of our community, Beth Israel Ohev Sholem (CBIOS). Our goal is to light all the letters of the Torah, chapter by chapter, book by book over the next 12 months. Each letter is to be lit in honor of someone or something that you care about. Thank you for being a part of this endeavour.

Esther Brandeau had to disguise herself as a man and hide her Judaism to make the trip from France. Once her identity was discovered, the local authorities kept her under house arrest and attempted to convert her to Catholicism. They sent her back to France after a year because she refused.
