VARSITY FOOTBALL EPISCOPAL COLLEGIATE

The 2020 Wildcat Football team is looking forward to the upcoming season. The Wildcats finished their year with a 5-4 record.

We return 6 starters on offense and 6 on defense. We have filled those vacated positions with capable players and are excited to begin the new season and to see what it brings

We are very confident in the personnel that we have this season and believe that we will continue to make strides. "I believe we have the talent to be a contender" (Coach Carter).

Our senior class has provided positive leadership and showed a strong work ethic. We believe that this year will be an exciting and successful season.

The six returning players on the offense include Junior QB Stephen Munson, RB/WR Wesley Wright, OL Holdyn Hoskyn, OL Alex Mehrabi, WR Lance Viscioni-Wilson and OL Porter Herron.

On the defensive side of the ball we have to fill the shoes of our leading tackler and LB in Jalen Davis. We feel that we have some very capable players that will step up and fill these shoes. Newcomer Joseph Woepple will work at LB and we feel he will do an outstanding job. Also Sophomores John Robert Bateman and Gray Lee and Junior Layne Keck will be among the LB crew.

Wesley Wright can play anywhere on defense and will be called upon this year to play an important role. DE Alex Mehrabi, DT Drew Seale, DE Mingya Li, DE Isaac Scarbourough, CB Grant Wild, FS Jonathan Franks and DT Sullivan Smith all return and will provide great depth to our defense.

PHILOSOPHY OF THE EPISCOPAL COLLEGIATE FOOTBALL PROGRAM

We will strive to keep our priorities in order: A. God/Church, B. Family, C. Academics, D. Football, E. Everything Else.
Our players will leave us as better people than when they arrived.
The team is built of players who do things the right way.
We run a disciplined program.
We will work hard and with a purpose, and the coaches will be role models for our athletes.
We will coach with intensity and enthusiasm. We will always be honest with our players and let them know exactly where they stand and what we expect.
We will never flinch. We will win by eliminating the bad play. We will be fundamentally sound in all that we do.
We will be totally committed to the program. We will develop and learn the habits of dedication and sacrifices for the common good of the team.
We will always play and coach within the rules and confines of the game. We will compete and never quit as long as there is time on the clock.
