Staffing Update

We are pleased to share with you that Mr. Cory Sandvold will be joining us to fill the Leave of Absence in Physical Education while Mr. Bastin is out. Mrs. Sandvold begins Monday, Dec. 14.

GC Food Services: Meals for Winter Break

In partnership with the transportation department, GC Food Service staff will be distributing meal kits directly to our families homes over Winter Break to help ensure our students have access to food and support their overall health and wellness.

This at home meal kit delivery service will provide families with 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches per week for each ENROLLED G-C student living in the household. At this time, meal kits are not available for siblings and/or other children in the household that do not attend G-C schools. Meals will be delivered on a G-C school bus and brought directly to the home's door step. This service will be provided each week of Winter Break; meal kits will be delivered on Tuesday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 29.

All requests must be submitted by the close of the business on Thursday, December 17, 2020. To request a meal kit use the link directly below.

Third Grade Families

Each year our third grade students participate in IREAD and ILEARN, which are state standardized tests that we are required to give students in grade 3. These tests assess progress and proficiency in core areas of learning. Below you will see a link to a note to parents from the Indiana Department of Education. Look for more information these assessments later this winter and early spring.

COVID19

Thank you for continuing to be diligent in your efforts to keep your family and other Harris students healthy and safe. Please self screen at home and be sure that you don't send a sick child to school this year. In addition, if any member of your household has a pending COVID-19 test, you should not send your child to school until the results of that test return negative. Thanks for helping us slow the spread at this difficult time of year.

EVERYDAY AT HARRIS

All items subject to change as new guidance is received.

Parent Teacher Organization

PTO: We have a wonderful Parent Teacher Organization. They have been so generous in helping buy some new things we need for the unique year we are facing, including: lanyards for face masks, additional traffic cones for our car line, and updated recess equipment for students and teachers. There will be more info from them on how and when they will meet. This year, we will need to focus on low or no contact fundraising options. Your support will be helpful in continuing to have the great resources we enjoy for Harris students. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
