Liam Bedard Your Legislative Assistant

Dear Nathan,

My name is Liam Bedard and it’s my pleasure to write to you to express my interest in being your next Legislative Assistant.

I am an experienced administrator, researcher, and writer with a background in policy analysis. I'm also a digital campaign consultant, video producer, and graphic designer.

I'm just wrapping up a contract advising the Emilie Taman Campaign for Ottawa-Vanier on their social media strategy and I'm ready for a new challenge.

I have 7 years of communications and policy experience with three years of direct experience in media relations. I have previously served as an assistant to senior executives in not-for-profit and political roles. I am a strong writer and copy-editor in English with good and improving French.

I pay attention to the details.

I'm good at balancing books, filing tax returns, preparing press releases, and transcribing meeting notes. I'm intrigued by the nuances of policy discussions. I have a good memory and pay strong attention to small details.

I am always circumspect in my official dealings on behalf of employers. I'm a skeptic who enjoys pushing back on arguments. I am a natural networker and coalition builder. I am a disciplined and effective time-manager. I am also easy to get along with.

I share credit on group projects. I acknowledge and take accountability for personal mistakes and shortcomings. I try to exercise good judgement in both my public and private life.

In short, believe I have the qualities to assist you in serving the voters of Skeena — Bulkley Valley

I hope my résumé conveys my relevant work experience, political campaign experience, and knowledge of the NDP to your satisfaction.

I would like to meet at your earliest convenience to discuss my application.
