Researchers Find A Way To Reverse Drug Resistance In Tuberculosis By: Kelsey Roen

In this article it is discussing how researchers have recently found the vaccine they were using for Tuberculosis is starting to be resisted by the disease, which making is making it pointless and not working. Recently they have discovered a new set of genes called ethA2 these genes could be triggered in the TB DNA, which would effectively kill the movement and stop the disease. They do however need to limit the use of this drug to guarantee long lasting affects and little resistance from TB DNA.

Analysis: This event makes me a little worried that bacteria and other bad pathogens are evolving enough to grow resistance towards the medicine that is supposed to be protecting us from being harmed. This could affect me or someone else due to the fact it could get a person really sick and we would not be able to treat them, it could affect a whole group of people. I do no think the author was bias in any certain way about this issue or article. The author gave good facts and was not leaning onto one side and only one side, was very good at describing the issue at hand. This article relates to Biology by discussing DNA and Genes that are evolving to create a resistance for antibiotics and other live-saving medicine.

Impact: I do think everyone should care about this because it could start with certain kinds of cancerous cells and other horrible diseases. It is significant because it can happen at any given time and it will have no warning signs. It needs to be addressed that this can happen to any disease and we should be ahead of it. Maybe we need to start making our antibiotics a little stronger and we should be looking into how to tell differences in certain DNA of diseases and when to change our way of fighting it to something stronger.
