Anaesethisia was first invented in October on the 16th 1840
The very first surgical procedure that took place was known to be very successful whilst using anaesthesia.
William Thomas green Morton was the very first person to use anaesthetics in a surgical procedure. William was born in Charlton city masachusist on August 1819 on the 19th.
William first started as a dentist in training at the bultimore college of dentistry. William worked his hardest to make surgery less painful for his patients.
Anaesthesia was the use of medicine it was used to prevent his patients from feeling a lot of pain or another sensation while during surgery or other procedures that might be painful.
Back then during the 1840s doctors or dentist never used anaesthesia during surgery at all.
Then in 1846 dentist publicly demonstrated to people that anaesthesia could be used in surgery or other things to knock people out or in other words put them to sleep.
Till this day , millions and millions of Australians undergo surgery safely through anaesthesia, general anaesthetics are still one of the most dangerous drugs used by doctors since it was made.
The discovery of local and regional anaesthetic provided the doctors the use to perform mini procedures.
Australians have improved anaesthesia over the years to make it as safe as they can for patients.
Types of anaesthesia : Local, regional and general.Local anaesthesia: Shot, spray, ointment. -Awake or sedated. -Control post surgical discomfort. -Regional anaesthesia: injected, comfortable during and after the surgery. Regional and general anaesthesia are often combined. -General anaesthesia: Unconscious Iv or inhaling gas or vapers.
There are many types of anaesthesia to use during different surgeries, the first one ever used for a small operation was general anaesthesia. This was a small operation and happened in 1846 in Boston. This surgery was successful and the anaesthesia worked well. They then tried to see if the anaesthesia would work on a slightly bigger operation. They then operated on a 17 year old boy who had a tumour on his neck. This surgery used general anaethesia to see if the boy would feel any pain. This surgery was also successful which expanded their knowledge of how anaethesia worked and how they could improve it for future operations.
Anaethesia impacted the industrial revolution in a big way because of how it made people who were ill and needed surgery feel better about having the surgery because they knew they wouldn't feel the excruciating pain anymore. During these times this was such a big invention because of how many diseases were going around because they didn't have really good living conditions or doctors to treat a cold which then got worse and could lead to surgery. These diseases really couldn't be avoided or if they could be it was really hard, because of their conditions and lack of medical supplies they couldn't stop the fever or cold which then made the illness worse and then that person would spread the disease and start toinfect other people. Before they invented anaethesia, patients who were ill or had an injury or tumour had to deal with the pain of surgery which was excruciating and could be torture for them. When anaethesia came along people were over the moon and didn't have to feel that pain anymore which was a massive deal seeing how many people got sick on a regular basis.
The industrial revolution was a huge expansion of technology roughly around 1700 (possibly before) to 1914. The industrial revolution had major impacts whether they were advantages or disadvantages, the many disadvantages were like diseases that came with all the people moving into the cities from rural areas and crime rates that kept increasing rapidly because people had to steal to survive. People made the move into towns because they were going out of buisness and also the factories were opening up and giving people more jobs and opportunities in the city. There were mass productions in the factories, this would be an advantage. Major reduction in 'cottage industries'. There was a massive poverty problem since the movement of people into towns.
