Mako Shark Melissa Woods

Mako sharks are the fastest species of sharks in the world. They can swim up to 60 mph when hunting but tend to swim around 35 mph.
Mako sharks are often hunted for sport since they are so small. It's often very frustrating because of how fast they are.
Mako sharks are known to jump out of the water but scientist are unsure of why they jump out of the water.
Mako sharks are easily recognized due to their strange teeth, that are even visible when their mouth is closed. The Mako looks like a mini Great White
There are 2 species of Mako shark, the longfin and the shortfin. The Longfin is a length of about 14ft and an adult weigh about 375 lbs while the shortfin are around half that size.
