Volunteer Newsletter December/January

Thank you for making this space a very special place!

This bi-monthly newsletter will keep you up-to-date on all things Allerton, including upcoming opportunities and training.

Gardens are Ready for Winter

Thank you to all of the volunteers that have been helping over the last few weeks with garden clean-up. We appreciate all of your hard work pulling annuals, planting bulbs, raking, mulching and preparing our gardens for the winter months. We wouldn't be able to do all of this without your help!

Tour Guide Training a Success

Thanks to all who joined us for the last tour guide training of the year. Eight volunteers came out on November 16 and are well on their way to leading tours!

Join us for Holiday Activities

Come out to enjoy the opening night of the Winter Wellness Light Walk Opening & Holiday Showcase, December 13-15.

Come out to see Allerton staff during the Christmas Parade, Saturday, December 7 at 11:30am in downtown Monticello.

New Volunteer Management System

Allerton's new volunteer portal Better Impact will go into effect on January 1, 2020. This system will make it easier for volunteers to apply, sign up to help, and keep track of their hours. The portal is desktop and mobile-friendly.

You will see 2020 opportunities in the new portal as they become available. Reach out to Katie at kmblacke@illinois.edu if you have any questions when creating your profile or signing up for jobs. Here are some helpful links if you need more assistance when setting up your profile.
