Fascinated by technology, Dell bought one of the first Apple computers to see if he could disassemble and reassemble it.

While in high school, Dell took a job selling newspaper subscriptions and using his skills he was able to identify a customer base, earning himself $18,000 in a single year

In his first year at the university, Dell began selling computer disk drives out of his dorm room.

With his business bringing in $80,000 per month, Dell was ready to quit school and put all focus into his business.

Dell's company was initially called PC's Limited and they sold personal computers by telephone order. By 1986, it became the first toll free technical support service.

In 1988, PC's Limited was changed into Dell Computer Corporation and the company soon went global.
Dell Computer was entered into the Fortune 500 and Michael Dell became the youngest CEO ever to lead one of the 500.
Founded MSD Capital LP in 1998 to help build smaller companies
To this day Michael Dell is married to Susan Dell and has four children. With his wife, the Michael & Susan Foundation was created to improve education, health, and safety for children around the world.
