Happy Holidays from St. Cloud State Huskies Athletics

St. Cloud State University Huskies Athletics enjoyed another year of success during 2016. Highlights included another NCAA Division II national championship for our wrestling team. SCSU also gained its fifth consecutive NSIC wrestling championship in 2015-16.

A first place finish at the 2016 NCHC Frozen Faceoff tournament for the SCSU men's hockey team and a number seed at the 2016 NCAA Division I West Regional, which marked the Huskies' fourth consecutive NCAA tournament bid.

An All-America finish for SCSU cross country senior Sam Sunstrom, who placed 34th at the 2016 NCAA Division II championships. Sunstrom also gained All-America Second Team honors in the 10,000 meters at the 2016 NCAA Division II outdoor track championships and gained All-NSIC honors by placing sixth at the 2016 NSIC Cross Country championships.

A first place finish for the St. Cloud State Huskies in the 2016 NSIC baseball tournament and a number one seed at the 2016 NCAA Division II Central Region tournament, which the Huskies hosted in St. Cloud, Minn.

A first place finish for Andrea Bryson at the 2016 New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference championships in the 200 free for SCSU women's swimming and diving along with All-America performances in the 1M (3rd place) and 3M (4th place) diving events at the 2016 NCAA Division II championships by SCSU men's swimming and diving team member David Sufficool.

CoSIDA Academic All-America honors were awarded to SCSU football standout Jameson Parsons for the second consecutive season in 2016. He was selected as the winner of the 2016 NSIC Glen Galligan Award and Parsons also gained All-NSIC and All-Region accolades for his accomplishments on the gridiron this fall.
