MQBS International Student Spotlight 2020 Employability, engagement and empowerment during covid-19

International students contribute greatly to Australian universities and communities. On campus they add cultural diversity and richness to our classrooms. They also contribute to make our campus life richer as members of sporting teams and as leaders and members of student clubs. Off campus the contribute greatly too! They stimulate our local economies as tenants, as part-time workers, consumers and even as volunteers. Then upon graduation many international students seek employment, residency or even citizenship in Australia and in turn enrich Australian life further as educated and motivated members of our community. International students are also important to Australia politically and economically - when they graduate they help to build important bridges between Australia and many other countries around the world.

Proudly brought to you by the 'International Engagement' and 'Careers' teams at Macquarie Business School (MQBS), this series of webinars is designed to showcase and celebrate the contribution and experience of international students studying in our School. Throughout the week there will be sessions about cultural differences and diversity and how it impacts upon our student's success. There will be sessions that explore student employability and engagement and many exciting opportunities for us to highlight the multi-faceted contribution made by international students to life at Macquarie University and beyond. Most of all, this week provides an opportunity for our students, staff and local employers to engage and connect in what has been a difficult year for us all but perhaps especially difficult for all of our international students whether they are studying here in Australia or joining MQBS courses as students studying remotely from their home countries.
