Focused on achieving the diploma for the Arts & Design Foundation program, granting entry to the Graphic Design program, will lead me on a steady path to become a Designer. The knowledge is taught to simplify and find ways to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may be seen. The main motivation is to create and design to turn a regular image into a WOW!

The Art & Foundations program was very rewarding, the one-year has been very beneficial to me as I have developed my skills within Art and have grown an understanding of the various techniques and disciplines within Art and Design. My drawing skills have improved dramatically using paints such as gouche, acrylic and ink and how blending colors creates depth and shadow to an image improving highlights and generally make any image look more bold and professional. Which has led me to my decision to specialize within Illustration. I enjoy creating images in response to a piece of writing or a particular theme, I see illustrations for childrens books as something worthwhile and importance. They can capture a childs imagination and inspire and motivate them to learn to read.
