How we express ourselves

Kala Ghoda

THIS WAS A TUNING IN ACTIVITY.WE HAD GONE TO KALA GHODA FOR A FIELD TRIP. I SAW MANY FORMS OF EXPRESSION. THE ARTIST'S PERSPECTIVE ALWAYS NEEDS TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN APPRECIATING ART. THE SILLIEST OF THINGS TO YOU,COULD ACTUALLY MEAN SO MUCH MORE!

This was one of the projects. To me, this expresses emotions through color and posture of the horses in this artwork. This red one expresses anger as it looks as if he/she is head-butting someone/thing, and it's red, which usually expresses anger.

Gallery walk

Another tuning in activity we did, we went to the second floor pit area for tuning in and we had some images to sort out into three strands:

  • An inquiry into the ways in which we discover and express ideas, feelings, nature, culture, beliefs and values
  • The ways in which we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity
  • OUR APPRECIATION OF THE AESTHETIC

GUEST SPEAKER-ILLUSTRATOR

WE HAD A GUEST SPEAKER COME OVER. SHE'S AN ILLUSTRATOR AND ANIMATOR. ON THAT DAY WE WERE FOCUSSING ONLY ON ILLUSTRATION. SHE HAD TURNED SOME PICTURES FROM 'BORED' TO 'TRANSFORMED'. SHE MADE ONE HAMSTER A KING THINKING ABOUT CHEESE WITH ONLY A SMALL CHEESE SLICE NEXT TO HIM. HE WAS WEARING A 'CHEESE' YELLOW CROWN. ALL THE STUDENTS IN THE ROOM WERE GIVEN AN IMAGE (INCLUDING ME.)I GOT A PENGUIN AND I MADE HIM GO TO A BEACH, WITH SUNGLASSES ON(HE THINKS HE'S SWAG.)AND A PALM TREE WITH COCONUTS.HE WAS WEARING AN ORANGE FEDORA.

Neel is playing the cajon. He said he's passionate about playing it, and he said his parents wanted him to learn a percussion instrument. He uses music to express how he feels. If he's happy, he plays it fast.

Zeal is playing the tabla. He knows a lot about the parts of a tabla and knows how to play it.Like Neel, he uses music to express how he feels.

Aditya is playing the keyboard.

Teacher's skit

Some of the assistant/teachers performed three skits about the problems that could be/are caused that happen in a group during exhibition. We were all able to identify all the problems that were trying to be shown. We learned that if this happens, it will be our loss.

My rubric-
