Universal theme: Don't always count on your dream
"Of mice and men"
"O.k. Someday we're gonna get the jack together and we're gonna have a little house and a couple of acres an' a cow and some pigs and "An live of the fatta the lan" Lennie shouted. "An have rabbits. Go on George! Tell about what we're gonna have in the garden and about the rabbits in the cages and about the rain in the winter and the stove and how thick the cream is on the milk like you can hardly cut it."
"And George raised the hunt and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close to the back of Lennies head. The hand shook violently but his face set and his hand steadied. He pulled the trigger."
I chose these explanation because the first one describes there dream and what it was like. The second one explained that george had to kill lennie because his actions will interfere George's dream. This comes to show you can't always count on your dream.
"Suddenly she discovered in a black Satin box a superb diamond necklace and her heart began to beat with uncontrolled desire her hands trembled as she took it."
"But suddenly she uttered a cry. She no longer had the necklace round her neck."
This explains her dream is to be rich and have money. It didn't come true but she got to see how it feels. So her dream didn't come true and she also lost the necklace which means she spent the rest of her life in dept trying to pay for it.
"So what's the big deal about this race of yours? If you win you get a piston cup it has always been a dream of mine."
"What you doing kid? I think the king should finish his last race."
It was a dream for lightning McQueen to win a piston cup until he let the fame get the best of him. When he entered a small town that taught him respect he realized it wasn't about the fame. The second one explains how he almost reached his dreams but he knew it wasn't right to leave the king injured.
I learned it's good to follow your dreams but I don't think you should risk something very good because you still never know if your dream will come true or not.
