Can Obama donate $1 billion to low income schools while he is "President" Obama?
Obama has decided to make one more big change before Trump’s Inauguration Day. He and his administration have considered one last minute shift in policies forcing more than one hundred schools and districts to cut spending, as well as elementary schools. The reason is because he is moving almost $1 billion to schools with a lot of low-income students. As a former Education Department official said, the regulation “could significantly improve achievement for students” in low income schools. The question is, will Obama have enough time before inauguration? They have accepted comments from the public since early November. Departments and agencies typically take at least several months -- and sometimes years -- to write a final rule after receiving public comments. "They've been pushing this rule pretty hard," said Nat Malkus, an education-policy expert at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. It seems like The Obama organization also wants this very badly. The question is, will it happen?
