Glencoe Heart of the highlands

Day Trip

These images were taken on a day trip to Glencoe. I had hoped for a slightly overcast and dull day to get some 'moody mono' shots but unfortunately this was not to be. The glen was shrouded in mist and cloud for most of the day with only an occasional slight break allowing me to get a few shots. It was also pouring with rain all day so most of the trip was spent under a golf umbrella, freezing and wet, just waiting for a break in the weather.

The dramatic three sisters of Glencoe

I have wanted to capture the famous black rock cottage for a long time and finally got my chance yesterday. Most of the shots I have seen have been taken on nice sunny days with the great backdrop of Glencoe in the background. Unfortunately visibility was extremely limited during this trip but I think the heavy sky and rain with snow in the background make this a slightly different take on probably the most photographed cottage in Scotland.
