Thelma started writing her story at the time her eyesight was failing and Part 1 takes us from her coming into the world and up to the Second World War. At this point in her writing Mum's eyesight failed to the point she could no longer continue.
Part 2 will be completed by her surviving son James

There is so much more that should have been said in Part 1, but as explained earlier time ran out. As a wife and mother, Thelma Gard was exceptional and I am sure if you knew her you would agree she was and amazing woman. . . . Love you always Mum
