TEST TAKING STRATEGIES COURSE: Enroll your child today!
As we look to the not-so-distant future, testing will continue to be a part of our children’s lives, from ISTEP (or the like); to high school admissions tests; to placement exams; to the PSAT, SAT, ACT and beyond. The Oaks is pleased to again offer a Test Taking Strategies course designed to hone your middle school student’s skills in verbal and quantitative reasoning, mathematics, reading comprehension and essays, while sharing best practices for attacking certain types of questions, pacing, reducing test anxiety, etc.
This 7-session course, offered for the first time last spring, has been revamped to include a simulated high school admissions test administered before the course begins and at its conclusion. The results of those tests will be provided to the participant and their parent, along with an analysis of strength and growth areas as represented by test outcomes. Additionally, parents will receive class handouts and a summary of topics covered following each session.
