February Week 1

Hey Jedi and Padawan, A BIG....BIG Sunday is coming! Let's get ready for it!

  • Last 3 weeks have been record Sundays, for the church and Kidspoint!
  • Super Bowl...oops, can't call it that, Big Game day has been the biggest Sunday in the past years, outside of Easter and Christmas
  • We've been a growth curb since the holidays
We had 582 kids this weekend, a new record high! And everybody rocked it

Having said that, let's tell our volunteers to jump on board for the best of blessings this weekend : serving with us! I wouldn't want them to miss the opportunity to be a blessing to someone else.

So let's get the information down to everyone.

IT'S BIG GAME DAY

Just a reminder though...so let's ask our 5pmers to help us out at 1:30!

here are a few things we will have.

We'll need some help on that day to make it happen.

Dream Killers

Last week's message by Pastor was so good. Here are a few notes I took.

  1. Listen to your Coaches, not your Critics, because they're invested in you and in your dreams
  2. Your holy discomfort is showing you you're part of the solution
  3. Doubt may not stop your dream but it may make you pump the breaks
  4. Little distractions may bring big detours

4 Things That Will Kill Your Dream: As soon as you take the step of confidence to speak the dream God’s given you out loud, the enemy will do everything he can to keep you from achieving that dream. Instead of chasing down and trying to kill your dream, the enemy knows if he can zap your confidence you will probably kill the dream yourself. Pastor Daniel shares the 4 ways the enemy will kill your confidence so you can be aware of them and give more authority to the voice of God in your life over the voice of your enemies.

Take some time to either re-listen to the message or dig a little deeper. The Spirit of God wants to do something in our lives, yours and mine.

"Stupid sentence" of the newsletter, well, here's the Superbowl winner : Patriots will win, by 3 points, 31-28.

FOR COACHES AND TEAM LEADERS

I encourage each of you be part of this great night. Pastor Daniel has an "on time" word to share with us and this will be a night you DO NOT want to miss! I also encourage to invite someone you are currently developing - someone who is not currently a team leader, coach, or director. It will be held here at the Fred campus Tuesday, February 21, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm

Childcare is provided. And oh yeah, RSVP is necessary.

I want to offer an opportunity for someone to serve on that evening. Since we are offering childcare, we will need people to help in our environments. It's an all-campus event so we do have other KP people from elsewhere serving with us, team mates as well as team leaders.

We want to ask live our people in our Rallies and make "personal asks".

Send me the names of your team mates

IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES

  • February 3rd - FEARLESS
  • February 12th and 26th - VO @ 8:30 & 4pm and Baptism

  • Pray for your team mates kids' that they choose to follow Christ and have a very "boring" testimony : "I met Christ when I was young and followed Him all my life!"

Specifics in environments

I will lead our VIP at 7:30 and 4:30PM in the downstairs Quest theater this week. Other VIP's will be held in your environments.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

There are so many devotionals out there. Here are a few.

  1. Echeck & First Time families teams are working hand in hand to make sure all our newcomers are well greeted. Good job teams.
  2. Trek teams are rocking it has they've been having record numbers in their environment.
  3. Welcome to Kaylin Hare and Michelle "Julianne Moore" Toia as our newest team leaders in Dive.

3 relationships to build

I had the priviledge to share this thought with our staff last week. I thought it could be useful to you too :). Here is number 2.

You can use this for your rallies

RELATIONSHIP #1 : Friendship
RELATIONSHIP #2 : Cheerleader (or if you prefer Champion!)

1st LAYER

MINISTRY IS ALL ABOUT PEOPLE, SO WE LEAD PEOPLE...

  • Show the "HOW TO DO"
  • Give them tasks
  • Lead the way
  • Set a sustainable pace and ask them to join us and not only tell them what to do: people are not our pawns.

2nd LAYER

one on our values is "WE FAN THE FLAME"

Our passion is active, producing evidence

Paul reminds Timothy to keep burning the passion in him

3rd LAYER

WE FOLLOW JESUS' EXAMPLE

  • After choosing the 12, he sent them out! "He called the Twelve to him. Then he sent them out two by two. He gave them authority to drive out evil spirits" (Mark 6:7)

4th LAYER

When people trust you, they will start moving. (Simon Sinek, "Leaders eat last")

5th LAYER

Be a cheerleader, a person that champions others like Paul tells us.

So cheer each other up with the hope you have. Build each other up. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
The things you have heard me say, entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.

A little reminder of some goals :)

  1. Become 3 deep in all of our leadership positions by June 30th
  2. Have 1 ready-to-go padawan each by February 28th
  3. Effective communication by February 15th
  4. Recruit 30 NEW volunteers by March 31st (we already have 6 of them in our pipeline from last weekend's VO)
  1. Matching Arena and your schedules by January 31st: new notes
  2. Arena Clean up by January 31st... so we don't cluster for no reason and allow new recruits to join quickly : communication lists active and precise
  3. Different "Weekly Jedi News": one for coaches and leaders, one for our team mates
  4. Training to come : "Recruiting", "3 questions to ministry" and "Parentalk"
  5. Meetings with possible new leaders : "See it, Say it"
  6. Speed up connection process : "Orientation & Connection Process"
  7. Do less, train and coach more...which doesn't mean you neglect your tasks!
  8. I will lead some VIP's once in a while
  9. ...
Training soon
May the Spirit be with you
