Artificial Intelligence Helping us advance

Artificial intelligence is defined as intelligence exhibited in computers

The ultimate goal of artificial intelligence is to create technology that can function in an intelligent manner. There are certain research goals for the development of artificial intelligence, they help divide the field into easier to manage tasks. They are:

  • Reasoning and problem solving
  • Knowledge representation
  • Planning
  • Learning
  • Natural language processing
  • Perception
  • Motion and manipulation
  • Social intelligence
  • Creativity
  • General intelligence

Through the completion of these individual goals, intelligent systems can emerge. Some prominent examples of intelligence machines include IBM's Watson, and Watson Analytics, which is a smart data analysis and visualization service which helps to quickly discover patterns and meaning in ones data can help researchers be more efficient and productive. It's able to speak naturally, take in natural speech input, display data, and automatically predict future analytics.

Technology that empowers researchers to quickly sift through mountains of data and produce presentable results in minutes will allow many researchers to help advance whatever field they work in. Utilizing other intelligent technologies like this, we will improve work productivity in many fields that deal with large amounts of data, including those in analytics, those analytics will help improve our understanding of the world we live in and the one we're making. These new ways of understanding, along with the research data others have collected, will help others in the fields of communication change and improve on the ways media is presented to us.
