My New Fave Tool animaker

MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS

were that this tool would bring out my creative side and allow me to create an engaging and fun presentation

MY FIRST ATTEMPT

After spending about 4 hours creating a presentation to outline the importance of Digital Responsibility and enjoying the process, I lost all my work as the programme does not continually save your work....

ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH

When I had recovered from this horrific ordeal and (again) sat down to create a presentation (remembering to continually save) I enjoyed the process

WHAT I LIKED

I was able to be creative and include a variety of scenes, characters, animations, scenarios and added a soundtrack and sound effects. I even added a voice-over at the start.

WHAT I DISLIKED

Being new to the programme, I found it very time consuming and sometimes felt restricted by the facilities available. For the free membership you are limited to a 2 minutes video so had to edit the final version several times to ensure it covered all aspects I wanted it to, however I was really pleased with the end result.

WOULD I USE THIS WITH LEARNERS?

I would recommend learners using this tool as they can have the opportunity to be really creative with it. There is a good amount of pre-set back-drops and characters to experiment with and would be a good tool to develop their Digital Literacy skills.

I would not recommend learners use this tool for the EDLS Controlled Task until they were familiar with the settings as it can be very time consuming and they would find it difficult to create a presentation in the allocated 5 hours (Level 2).

CONCLUSION

This is a great tool, but time needs to be spent experimenting with it and, if you have the time you can really go to town and create an interesting, engaging and amusing presentation - as I did!
