It is the second prequel to the Maze Runner Series
The story begins with Thomas, a young immune taken in by WICKED from his mother. He is studied and challenged daily to see patterns in his brain. WICKED desperately "needs" to find a cure for the Flare virus and believes the immunes they recruted to the WICKED facilities in Alaska are the key. thomas very quickly develops doubt and suspicion of the orginization, for he is kept isolated until he meets Teresa. The quickly become best friends. Soon Thomas and Teresa make friends with other immunes at the complex. Which they later have to put into the Maze trials (continues into the Maze runner). They have a big delema. Do they do what's right for the world or their friends?
