The movie The Great Gatsby is set in the 1920's . All the characters have many costume changes and wear very popular items of clothing from that 20's. All of the clothing from the movie is very realistic and closely related to actual fashion during that period of time. I don't think Catharine could've done much better. The characters all look like they are straight out of the 20's. Many costume's have specific characteristics that resemble trends from that time. Everything from the clothing, makeup , and hair are very comparable to the actual time period.
This movie didn't have an influence on "street fashion" or "ready-to-wear fashion" because The movie came out in 2013 but it is set in the 1920's. Also the movie has very lavish and glamorous costumes that would not be worn on an everyday bases. But when this movie came out it had a huge influence on Halloween costumes and party themes. Everyone wanted to dress like a flapper girl from The Great Gatsby .
