The Travel Ban ¨If two men desire the same thing, which nevertheless they cannot both enjoy¨

By Drew Allard

Hobbes would approve of the travel ban because he believed that humans were untrustworthy and that one man should make all the decisions for the country. Trumps thinking in his decisions is what Hobbes would agree on due to Hobbes authoritarian thinking.Hobbes writes:

If two men desire the same thing, which nevertheless they cannot both enjoy, they become enemies; and in the way to their End,...endeavor to destroy, or subdue one another

The two men take the place of Trump and The Middle east this because the two men are fighting for the same thing and in this case with the travel ban it is world peace and homeland security so by Trump taking action and saying enough is enough completely agrees with Hobbes thinking in the fact that Trump believes Mideastern's are untrustworthy. Hobbes view on the travel ban because he believed that in the world nothing is equal so by banning races from the U.S would agree with his thinking therefore Hobbes would agree with the travel ban.
