- Keep the viewer interested with each new shot via visual and aural information
- Find the motivation for each edit. There must be a reason behind each transition.
- Pay attention to the motion lines and lines of attention in your shots
- Learn the various edit types. Dissolve, fade, wipe etc. Make sure they make sense where they are used.
- Good editing often goes unnoticed. Take pride in that if it is the case for your movies.
- Understand editing guidelines. Also, be prepared to use your creativity when you know the how and why of its use.
