Textbook Adoption Spring 2021 Due October 1, 2021

Dear WSU Faculty member,

When you offer timely adoptions, we can better work with publishers and suppliers to source lower-cost course materials, including used books, and have our shelves stocked and ready before the semester.

Adoptions submitted after this deadline run the risk of backorders and can result in higher costs to your students. This adoption deadline also allows us to buy back textbooks that will be used next semester, which puts a little extra money back in your students' pockets.

You will receive auto-generated adoption emails from Verba Collect, our textbook adoption platform. These emails contain a direct link to the courses you've been assigned to teach. Adoption reminders are not spam or phishing, so please do not mark them as such.

We understand that some schedules and course assignments may not have been made in Banner before the adoption deadline. Please be on the lookout for notifications that you have been assigned classes, and then submit your materials as soon as possible so we can avoid delays to your students.

Here is a short video tutorial about submitting your textbook adoptions.

If you need help ordering your books, please contact your department's buyer or email textbookordering@weber.edu.

If you would like to use Day One Access, which saves students money and allows them to access their materials via Canvas, please submit your adoptions with either the DOA ISBN you have used in the past or the ISBN of the same physical material you would like to use in digital format. You must also mark:

- Okay, to use an eBook? - YES

- Would you like to adopt this as a Day One Access title? - YES

If you do not answer "yes" to these questions, we will not know that you would like your material in our DOA program.

The deadline for Day One Access submissions corresponds with the regular adoption deadlines. All late adoptions will be subject to review and approval by the DOA team and the Bursar Office since students will pay for their DOA materials and tuition and fees. For more information about Day One Access and how it benefits you and your students, please email dayoneaccess@weber.edu.

If you are not using course materials for your class, you should submit an adoption as "NO TEXT REQUIRED." Please also let us know if you are using materials that cannot be provided by the Wildcat Store (OER, web-based subscriptions, software, etc.).

We also ask you to review Weber State University Policies and Procedures No. 4-16, III: C. Please note that if veterans or active military students, student-athletes, or other sponsored students enroll in your class, their financial aid will only cover materials sourced from the Wildcat Store. When this policy has not been followed, it impacts student learning and affordability that can easily be avoided with policy adherence.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the course material adoption process. Together with you, the Wildcat Store is dedicated to providing affordable, quality course materials for Weber State University students
