How the Ephiphany is celebrated in other countries? January 13, 2017 By: skye fOX

How is the Ephiphany celebrated in Spain?

Like in America, In Spain the people celebrate the Epiphany each year on January 6th. It is celebrated 12 days after Christmas.

In Spanish, the Ephiphany is called 'Fiesta de Los tres Reyes Mages'. In English that means 'The festival of the three Magic Kings'.

The Ephiphany celebrates the day when the three kings brought the gifts of Frankincense, Myrrh, and Gold to Jesus when he was born. A tradition In Spain that occurs on this day is that the children write letters of what they would like the three kings to bring them. On this day the people always exchange gifts, similar to Christmas.
