To start off this project of creating an ideal cottage for Coach V, we had to draw some blueprints like real architects. We had to draw one of the front view, side view and a blueprint of how it looks from the top, or called a birds view.
After we drew our blueprints we had to actually design our house on Tinker Cad. Tinker Cad is a program/website where you can design a model that you can eventually 3D print. Here are some pictures of what the cottage on Tinker Cad looked like.
After we "tinkered" our cottages, to scale, it was time for the hardest part. Calculating the cost for the whole cottage. We had to find out the cost for the Celestial blue paint, for the outside. The cost for the shingles, for the roof. And of course the cost for the heating of the whole house, to keep yourselves warm during the Canadian winter.
To conclude this whole project, I have made a 10 by 10 cottage with a master bedroom, a baby bedroom and a bathroom. I have also included an open kitchen with an island in the middle. I have included a dining room and a living room with a big sofa and a nice fireplace. Overall I really liked this project because it allowed us to be creative and apply all of our math skills to it.
