Hello everyone!

We are finishing the first quarter of 6th grade next week! I don’t know about you, but this first 9 weeks of school went by quickly. In this newsletter I included a quick tip for Google Classroom, and what the 2nd quarter focus will be. As always, feel free to contact me any time!

Personalized Learning Path

Your student’s “Passion Project Article” is due on Friday October 5th, and Travel Brochure Presentations will be Monday and Tuesday October 8th and 9th. Some students have already turned in their brochures and they look amazing! Check out the display case by the library!

Google Classroom Tips!

When your student is signed into Google Classroom for my class, I have instructed them to click on “Classwork” at the top of the page. I have grouped the project instructions and assignments together by project title. If an assignment icon to the left is gray, they are done and turned it in. If the assignment icon is colored, they still need to complete the work and submit.

2nd Quarter Focus

#BEprepared

In the second quarter, students will be using their Passion Project Topic as a starting point to prepare for the future. They will be researching a variety of careers, solve another STEM mission, and create a service project plan.

#BEareader

Language Arts will be focusing on our fiction and poetry units. We are going to start the novel "The Giver", learn about "Socratic Seminars", and continue to work on independent reading. Their Book Posters will be posted around the school in order to start a #BEareader movement on campus!
