NASCAR, which stands for National Association for Stock Car Racing, got started because of something illegal, The prohibition laws meant that no one was allowed to drink alcohol. But people would still drink in secret. People would make illegal whiskey and sell it. Their cars had to be fast to get around the country and stay ahead of the police. Soon they started racing each other someone eventually built a dirt track in a cow pasture and the rest is history.
