CBD Revitalisation

Project Aim – To revitalise the Katherine CBD so it provides a beautiful, inviting and functional street presence for locals and visitors. The design will capture social inclusion, cultural embodiment, economic prosperity and environmental sustainability.

As part of an overall plan for the revitalisation of Katherine, the CBD revitalisation will create an enriching community environment that is engaging and functional, not only for our local residents, but for visitors from the Big Rivers region, for those considering a relocation to a regional centre and for tourists alike. Council are working in partnership with Department of the Chief Minister, Department of Infrastructure Planning and Logistics and the Chamber of Commerce to bring this exciting development to fruition.

Initial Concept Plan for Katherine CBD Revitalisation Project

After a thorough tender process, Ashford Group Architects have been selected to develop the CBD Revitalisation Masterplan. Ashford’s are familiar with the Katherine region, having recently completed the new Katherine Ambulance Station and now in the process of completing the adjacent Katherine Fire Station. Katherine Town Council are confident Ashford Group Architects will provide an excellent consultation process and resulting Masterplan for the CBD project.
