Distracted Driving

Distracted driving is one of the main causes of teen deaths. Many teens have died from car crashes that involved distracted driving. Different types of distracted driving are texting on your phone, eating a sandwich while driving, putting on makeup, and looking into the mirror to look at yourself. A lot of people die because they are dumb and don't pay attention while they are driving. When you drive you need to be in the driving zone, which means your only focusing on driving.

Stop Distracted Driving

There are many people that are coming up with PSA's to stop distracted driving. One of the PSA's in Columbus, Ohio is Maria's message. Dom Tiberi's daughter was killed in a car accident due to distracted driving. He then went on to create Maria's message. Maria's message is to try and stop people from texting and driving. When I hear that a teen died in a car accident from distracted driving it just makes me feel so bad inside, so please DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE. IT CAN WAIT!!

Statistics on Distracted Driving

Eleven teens die every day because of texting and driving. About 94% of teens know the the dangers of texting and driving but only 35% of them admit to doing it. If they know then dangers of texting and driving then why even risk your life to say hi to a friend. About one in every ten people of drivers from 15 to 19 years old involved when a fatal crash were distracted at the time of the crash.

The Importance of the Seat Belt

The seat belt is a very important resource that a lot of people don't take advantage of in the car. A lot of people don't put on their seat belt because they aren't going very far. They are going to point A to point B in like five minutes. In this situation you need to wear your belt because this is where a lot of accidents happen. When you are just going five minutes to get to a friends house and you will drive carelessly and then get into an accident. You can also get pulled over by a cop and get a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. In 2o14 a total of 21,022 passenger vehicle occupants died in a motor vehicle crashes. About 15,000 lives are saved each year because people are wearing their seat belts. Click it or ticket. Buckle up it's the law.
