Facts about Thailand: Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country that was never colonised by an European country. One tenth of the entire population of Thailand lives in Bangkok. There are about 35,000 temples in Thailand. Thailand is home to many, many animals. The national flower of Thailand is the orchid. Each year, about 6,000,000 tourists visit Thailand. Thailand is made up of approximately 1,430 islands.

Places in Thailand: Some places in Thailand are: Bang Kok which is the capital city, Ko Samui which is a beach, Chiang Mai which is Thai handicrafts, Krabi which is a type of island and Mueang Chiang Mai District which is the Thai temple and Phuket city which is a holiday place and a snorkeling place.

Lakes, rivers and islands in Thailand: Some popular rivers in Thailand are: Mekong river, Saleun river, Mae nam ing river. Popular lakes in Thailand: Nong han lake, phayao-see lake, chaweng lake. Popular islands in Thailand: Ko lipe island, ko ngai island, ko mak island.

Some well known forest in Thailand are: Kui Buri National Park, Kaeng Krachan National Park, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Khao Yai National Park, Erawan National Park, Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park, Khao sok National park.

Traditional Thai dances: Khon is the most popular form of Thai dance. Dancers mime the action while the story is being told/sung by a chorus in the background. Dancers wear fancy costumes and masks. Khon characters include demons, monkeys, humans and celestial beings. Lakhon is another type of dance. Lakhon dance movements are graceful. Dancers are usually female and perform as a group. Manohra dance is unique to the south of Thailand. It is a dance which tells the love story between Prince Suthon and Kinnari Manohra, a half-bird half-woman being. All traditional Thai dances wear beautiful costumes, lots of make up and tell stories.

Sports in Thailand: Some of the most popular sports in Thailand are: Golf is the most popular Thai sport apart from badminton, soccer, boxing, snooker, tennis, gymnastics and bowling. Traditional games of Thai boxing, kite-fighting, boat racing and takro are also practiced in Thailand.

A day in a life of a child: Most kids in Thailand attend school daily and they start at 8:00am and finish at 3:30pm every day. They attend 4 subjects a day which are high quality educated. Everyday they have 7 hours and 30 minutes of school it's a very long day. Most kids have several chores to do in the house like….. Dishwasher, vacuuming maybe even cooking the dinner. While they are doing their chores they have to fit in there hobbies which might be Dance, read, soccer, tv and study but much more.
