2nd Sunday After Pentecost June 14th, 2020

This Sunday, we begin by reading of the wonderful love of our promise-making and promise-keeping God. In the Psalm, we dedicate ourselves to call upon the Lord we love, who faithfully hears our voices. Lastly, by the example of Christ and His apostles, we are reminded of great commission that we share as fellow children of God: to proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God with both wisdom and innocence in the midst of the wolves of this fallen world.

A Prayer

God of the prophets and apostles, you sent holy messengers to old Abraham and Sarah with overwhelming news of wonder and life. We pray that by your Holy Spirit we might also serve you in this world by proclaiming the incomparable good news of Jesus Christ in the presence of all people. Grant dear Lord, that our words of truth would be both wise and gentle remembering that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Amen
