EN -Vietnam March 2017 update

Greetings from Vietnam! May this newsletter finds you well. We hope that this update will bring you encouragement as you read through it and be amazed on what God has done and continue to do in the nation of Vietnam!

NEW CITY, NEW TERRITORY. As I have reported last time, we plan to start a work in two new locations namely Vung Tau and Can Tho. Last month, we went to Vung Tau city to meet some potential workers and volunteers who can help us in starting the work in that city. We met with 4 English teachers who are very excited to start a Life Group with some of their students. They are willing to help us as soon as we send full time workers. Please continue to pray for guidance on when and who will we send to go and make disciples in that city this year.
MIX SINGLES PROFESSIONAL RETREAT. It was only last year that we started this ministry to single working professionals in the church and at the end of the year we had around 30 plus people. This month we invited ptr Dennis Sy and his wife Thammie to minister to them. The retreat was focus on strengthening their relationship with God, with each other and to be involved in the vision of the church in reaching 30&150 this 2017. They pledged to disciple someone and for others to lead their own Life group before the end of this year. Check out this video of the retreat. https://youtu.be/5nuR_oed_yI.
MD & EL TRAINING. As part of reaching our church goal of 30&150, we started training and equipping these young people. These students finished their classes in Making Disciples and Empowering Leaders and are ready to go and fulfill the mandate in Matthew 28 - to go and make disciples.
University Village Group. With the students back from their long vacation after TET (VN New Year), our group in Thu Duc are continuously growing and adding more students slowly but surely. We are praying for a better and bigger place to meet to accommodate the growing number of students joining this mid-week prayer meeting.
Youth Service. We recently extended our church office/building to have more space for our youth service. We are also seeing more and more students giving and surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ. We are having a breakthrough in one of the Universities near the church. More freshmen and sophomore students are joining the eClub and being invited to church and getting saved.

PRAYER POINTS. 1. First victory weekend of the year – Protection for candidates and the teachers as we hold this event in a resort 20kms away from the city. Pray for finances for the students to join. 2. Pray for students to have the opportunity to join this year EN Campus Unashamed Conference in Manila. Pray for favor from their parents and for finances for the trip. They are starting to raise fund for this big event. 3. Pray for our family trip to Manila in April. Our first son Juan Miguel is graduating in 6th grade and will join his first ever Commencement Exercise at VCIS Home School Department. We are all excited for this.

Once again, we would like to send our deepest gratitude and appreciation for standing with us and financially partnering with us in the work God is doing here in Vietnam. Indeed, the work of Church Planting, Campus Ministry and World Missions would not be possible without you our ministry partners. Together, we are making an impact in this nation of Vietnam. May our dear Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless you and keep you. May His abundant blessings and provision be upon you and your loved ones.

Your missionaries to Vietnam - Mike, Kim, Juan Miguel, & Juan Rafael dela Pena
